qNotify for Android
qNotify for Android is installed from this page, not from a store, and it receives its alerts through your organisation's own push server. Three steps, each done once.
1. Install ntfy and connect it to your organisation's server
Install the ntfy app from Google Play or F-Droid. In its settings, add your organisation's server as the default server and sign in with the account you were given for it. ntfy is the push distributor: qNotify itself never talks to Google.
2. Install qNotify
Download qNotify (APK). Android asks once for permission to install apps from this browser. The SHA-256 of the current build is in version.json. qNotify checks that file once a day and offers the download when a newer version exists.
3. Enrol and connect
In qNotify, Settings: paste the enrolment text or code you received from your IBM i administrator and press Enrol this device, then press Connect under Notifications. Send yourself a test alert to confirm the chain works with the app closed.
